Our holiday sale will showcase high quality gift books for children (stories, fact books and nearly new novels) and adults (gift quality nonfiction books of various subjects). We will have brand new puzzles in the lobby. We will have almost new holiday books for children and adults (lots of novels) as well as holiday puzzles, CDs and DVDs showcased in the lobby area in front of the checkout counters.
As usual many easy, middle and young adult (YA) fiction and nonfiction books will be displayed in the main lobby of the library. Also in this area we will have Winter Holiday books for ‘children’ of all ages. Other tables in the north lobby and extending west will showcase many types of adult fiction books, including Nearly New 2016 novels. We have a terrific selection of graphic novels on hand for this sale as well. The large meeting room to the east of the south entrance will contain Children’s Education (K-12 education materials by subject matter), Education (variety of selections – STEM, NGSS, working with students, setting up learning scenarios), Reference, and Text Books. In addition, we will have ‘Old’ children’s books, published between 1920 and 1970, located on tables along the south wall. The McAllister meeting room also contains Cookbooks, Crafts, Art, History, Science, and other nonfiction books on various subjects.
The December Book Sale begins Friday, December 2nd. It is open Friday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 for Friends members only. You may purchase a yearly, individual or family, membership for $10.00 on the evening of the sale. Saturday, December 3rd, the book sale will run from 9:00 to 6:00. Sunday, December 4th, the book sale will run from 1:00 to 6:00, and all books will be half-price. Monday, December 5th, is Bag Day. The sale will run from 9:00 to 3:00, and a bag of books will cost $3.00.
