The Friends of the Tippecanoe County Public Library would like to invite you to our March book sale at the downtown library branch. We will have many EASY board books, picture books, fact books, and story books, Junior Early Reader Level 1 through 4 paperbacks and short novels (JERs), Middle novels (assorted authors) and fact books, and Young Adult (YA) fiction and nonfiction books displayed in the main lobby of the library. Most children’s books will be priced at 50₵ each. We will have gift books for Mother’s Day, graduation and the various spring holidays.
Other tables in the main and north lobbies will showcase many types of adult fiction books. Romance, Large Print, Science Fiction, Christian Fiction, and Mystery/Thriller hardbacks and trade paperbacks will be in their normal places. The McAllister meeting rooms to the east of the south entrance will contain nonfiction books on various subjects. Of special interest to you folks will be the Children’s Education (K-12 education materials by subject matter), Education/Communication (variety of selections – STEM, NGSS, working with students, setting up learning scenarios), Reference, and Text Books. In addition, we will have ‘Old’ children’s books located on tables along the south wall. The McAllister meeting room also contains Biographies, History, Crafts, Art, Classics, Indiana, and media.
The March Book Sale begins Friday, March 1st. It is open Friday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 for Friends members only. You may purchase a yearly, individual or family, membership for $10.00 on the evening of the sale. From Saturday (March 2nd) through Monday (March 4th) the book sale is open to the general public. Saturday the book sale will run from 9:00 to 6:00. Sunday the book sale will run from 1:00 to 5:00, and all books will be half-price. Monday is Bag Day. The sale will run from 9:00 to 3:00, and a bag of books will cost $3.00.
Proceeds from our book sales support summer reading programs, author visits and scholarships for library employees. We look forward to seeing you at the September book sale.
Would you please let your students and their families know about this sale, too? For all children, we are offering a buy one book and get a second book, of equal or lesser value, for free. Students who have earned book dollars can redeem them at the sale.
