Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,
All Fridays of Lent are days of Abstinence.
A Fast is for all adults age 18 to 59. On days of fast a person is allowed one full meal and two other meals that are sufficient to maintain, but the two other meals when put together should not be equal to the one full meal. Eating between meals is prohibited, but liquids including milk or juices may be taken.
All children who have completed their 14th year are bound by the Law of Abstinence. On days of Abstinence no meat is to be eaten. When for health reasons (or your ability to work would be seriously affected) the law does not oblige you.
Walk the Way of the Cross: To nourish your Lent, we offer the Stations of the Cross on Thursday at 2:15pm (with the school children) and Friday at 7:00pm, followed by Reconciliation most Fridays. Please join us as we ponder the mysteries of Christ’s Passion and Death.
Reconciliation & Parish Penance Service: Lent is the perfect time to make a good confession. There is nothing more freeing than having our sins forgiven. Watch the parish calendar and announcements for opportunities this Lent to make a good Confession. And then… bring your family!
MondayNight Adoration: During Lent we continue offering Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at the conclusion of the 5:15pm Monday Mass. Come pray with your fellow St. Lawrence parishioners and encounter God’s mercy in Confession. Benediction concludes this at 7:00pm.
Little Black Books: These have become a staple for the St. Lawrence Lenten journey. Please take one home and share this with your family. On the cover of the book is the schedule of Lenten activities so you can make the most of the season. They are located at the entrances of Church.
Adult Faith Study or Retreat: We have many wonderful opportunities during Lent to nourish your faith. It is a great time to stretch yourself and take some time with the Lord. Check out the bulletin, our website, Facebook, and our My Parish APP frequently for all the details.
